Many companies who employ mathematically trained graduates actively encourage their employees to engage in community volunteering. Whilst these activities are of course extremely worthwhile, they rarely leverage the mathematical skills of the professional volunteers. We work with organisations to run Industry Mentoring Programs.

We believe such a program offers enthusiastic learners a unique opportunity to interact directly with professionals doing ‘real world’ maths and gain an exceptional insight into the world of opportunities afforded by a strong mathematical education.

NAB’s involvement in the Enquiring Minds Industry Mentoring Program has been a fabulous experience... Our colleagues who participated as tutors really enjoyed their involvement and the program was fabulous for enhancing colleague engagement and generating pride in the bank... We have a lot of quantitatively trained colleagues who use mathematics every day in their work. They really enjoyed sharing their love of the subject with the students and talk about its real-world importance.

I cannot thank you enough for the opportunity you have given our students. They were thrilled from the epxerience and they felt really special. On the bus they didn’t stop talking about the problems they had solved. All I could hear was algebra talk...
